About Your Practice

Why did you become a therapist?

I became a therapist because I wanted to use my past struggles to help others with their problems and give them hope. I truly felt God was calling me to become a therapist.

What do you think is important for a client to look for in a therapist?

I think a client needs to feel comfortable with a therapist, knowing they’re in a completely safe place to share their pain and struggles.

How does your faith play itself out in your work as a therapist?

As a Christian counselor, I focus on respecting the client’s beliefs and the client’s ability to choose what is best for them. At the same time, I pray before every counseling session because I know that alone I am ill-equipped to help this person. I need the Lord’s guidance in everything that I say and do with my clients.
