Questions about your practice

What do you value about being a therapist?

I find the connection with people at a deep, heart level immensely satisfying. Helping people, encouraging people, and challenging people to find their hearts and keep them as well as share them with others is what God made me for.

What do you think is important for a client to look for in a therapist?

Clients need to look for someone who will listen, not only to their story, but to their hearts and needs. Clients need to find a therapist who helps them locate themselves. If you don’t connect, look for someone else.

How does your faith play itself out in your work as a therapist?

My faith is essential in defining not only who I am, but what I do. Though I accept people who do not share my faith, everyone has dignity and worth as a result of being created in God’s image. Therefore, everyone has the same basic needs.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself continuing to do what I do but increasing my activity in training other therapists and leaders in the community to live from their hearts.
