Living With Desire: A Seminar for Men

True growth and healing begin when we learn how to engage with our desires to live fully, contribute significantly, and create space for others to do the same. These God-given desires manifest differently in each of us, and can often expose the most vulnerable parts of our being, because at the core, our unique desires reveal what it is we truly hope for in the future. In order to see our desires come to life, we need support to express them and the courage to chase after them.

WHAT: One-day immersive seminar exploring how to courageously connect with the desires of your heart, and how living from these desires can change the course of your life and those you love the most. This experience has been designed for men of all ages to rediscover more of how they were made to relate to God, themselves and others. Limited to 50 participants.
WHEN: Thursday, May 10, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
COST: $225
WHERE: Shelby Farms Park, FedEx Event Center
FACILITATORS: Jeff Schulte, Dr. Tim Holler, Dr. Corey Latta, Robbyn Abedi and Shad Berry

Jeff Schulte gives direction and oversight to the global mission of Tin Man Ministries. Jeff’s passion is investing deeply and personally in the lives of leaders and the organizations they lead. Prior to this, Jeff was the Executive Director of the Sage Hill Institute,  and the directional leader, teaching pastor, and founder of a church with international reach that grew from four people to more than 4,000 in eight years.

Tim Holler has been counseling and/or teaching counseling for over 20 years. As a college professor, he taught both undergraduate and graduate students, concentrating on supervising interns in clinical practice. As a private practice counselor, he has years of experience with individuals and couples whose struggles in the present (e.g. depression, anxiety, addiction, abuse), are bound up with their personal histories.

Dr. Corey Latta has a B.A. in Biblical studies, M.A. in New Testament Studies, M.A. in English, and Ph.D. in Literature. He has taught in Christian higher education and served in ministry for over ten years. A few of his passions in ministry include teaching biblical interpretation, creating discipleship relationships, and helping people see God’s purpose for their lives. He is the author of C.S. Lewis and the Art of Writing, and is currently working on a new book on Christ and creativity.

Robbyn Abedi has served as a pastor for over 10 years, and currently works as the Directional Pastor at Christ City Church in Memphis, TN, where he oversees the vision and mission of the church through preaching and discipleship. He is married to Suzanne and they have one daughter named Charlotte. They love Memphis, eating good food, and everybody dancing to Disney “princess songs.”

Shad Berry Shad’s personal experience with Sage Hill in 2012 stirred a passion for a Sage Hill presence in Memphis. Along with co-founder Tim Holler, they shared a vision to meet the overwhelming need in their community for life-changing counseling. In October of 2014, Shad and Tim officially launched Sage Hill Counseling in Memphis, TN, to help people “see who they were made to be so they can do what they were made to do.”

The seminar will begin at 8:00 am, and will consist of teaching from Jeff Schulte and Dr. Corey Latta. It will include time for refreshments and facilitated small group conversation.

A catered meal will be provided for lunch while our speakers discuss content from the morning session and interact with you in a panel format.

Tim Holler, Robbyn Abedi and Shad Berry will continue the conversation around living with desire. Our team of facilitators will guide you in discussion and lead you in a reflective exercise to recover the voice of your desire. We will dismiss by 6:00 pm.
